Bio

Rebecca Moritzky, has played the harp for 18 years and has actively performed for 14 of those years. She has played with several youth orchestras, including 10 years as a member of the Denver Young Artists Orchestra (DYAO). She is a graduate of the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver with a bachelor’s degree in harp performance.  Currently, she is completing a second bachelor’s degree in Worship Arts at Colorado Christian University. Additionally, she is the principal harpist with the Lakewood Symphony Orchestra and the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, and has played with other local orchestras.

Rebecca has played on the Bear Valley Church worship team, the Bear Valley Youth Worship Team, and as a special soloist with both acoustic and electric harp over the past several years.  She is a fulltime member of the Faith Bible Chapel South worship team and performs on the electric harp. Additionally, she has performed in numerous Denver metro churches, including St. Andrew’s, as a soloist and accompanist for large musical productions, with choirs, and with bell choirs.

She has had her own music business, Heart Strings Harps, for the past 12 years. Through this business, she performs at weddings and special events, retirement homes, and several other types of venues. She was chosen as Lakewood’s Sister City Music Scholar in 2013 and 2015 where she soloed with the Lakewood Symphony before traveling to Chester, England and performing four concerts. She traveled to China with the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra for a 14-city tour.  She has also traveled with the DYAO first to Germany, the Czech Republic and then France, Italy, and Spain, performing in several venues.

In 2015, Rebecca premiered her first concert playing jazz harp at Dazzle.  She has continued to be a part of the Soundscapes series performing at the Dairy Center in Boulder. She is currently a part of TPT, an indie/pop-style band, and Nova Somnia, a progressive rock band. She played as part of the ensemble for Josh Groban in the Pepsi Center. Rebecca has studied kathak, a type of dance from North India, for four years, and is actively incorporating her harp playing into the practice of kathak dance.

In June of 2017, Rebecca founded ARTSemble, a monthly arts collaboration showcase hosted at Rockley Music Recital Hall, aiming to bring consistent performance opportunities to Denver-area artists and quality art to the public.
